CURRENT HUMANITARIAN EMERGENCIES

Emergency Relief for Ukrainians

Ukraine Flag

We have launched an effort to bring emergency relief to Ukrainians in the border regions of Poland and Romania. Since February 24, 2022, almost 7 million people have fled their homes in the war-torn nation to neighboring countries with only the clothes on their backs and some personal effects.
Due to these dire circumstances, we are acting to provide humanitarian relief in the form of useful versatile clothing, shelter items, high yield food products, and hygiene kits, as well providing low availability necessities in high demand.

Rohingya / Bangladesh

Rohingya refugees have been fleeing violence in Myanmar at a staggering rate – and the numbers keep growing. They walk for days through jungles and mountains, or brave dangerous sea voyages across the Bay of Bengal. They arrive exhausted, hungry and sick. The vast majority of newly-arriving refugees are living in makeshift settlements and temporary shelters.

Syria

Seven years into the conflict in the Syrian Arab Republic, the scale, severity and complexity of needs across the country remain overwhelming. Syrian refugees struggle to access medical care, schools for their children, employment and food. Most of them live in rural areas in makeshift shelters, or in urban centers, often in overcrowded and dangerous locations.

Yemen

The humanitarian situation in Yemen continues to worsen. With fuel and food prices at double or even triple the pre-conflict averages and the depreciation of the Yemeni rial, the threat of hunger for millions is a reality. Against this backdrop, the spread of COVID-19 is rapidly on the rise, with some of the highest number of cases reported since the pandemic began.

South Sudan / Kenya

The violent conflict in South Sudan has forced millions to flee and left millions more displaced inside the country. It is the largest refugee crisis in Africa. The vast majority of those fleeing South Sudan are women and children. They are survivors of violent attacks, sexual assault and, in many cases, children have been separated from their parents and are traveling alone.

The Timing is Right! UN Charities are now depending on your support!

Now is precisely the time for galvanizing individual donor funding for the UN.

The UN is currently facing funding cuts from governments around the world. In this current political environment, the UN’s lifesaving humanitarian work will depend on support from donors like you!

Presently, UN Charities receive only around 2 to 6 % of their financial support from individual/private donors. Let’s grow this number!

Government funding cuts for vital UN agencies and programs threaten the critical work of the UN in delivering lifesaving humanitarian aid to some of the world’s most remote and dangerous locations. Fund The UN is a pathway for individuals like you to support this vital international organization!

Although the 193 member countries of the United Nations pay mandatory assessments towards the UN Budget, contributions towards the UN’s Development and Humanitarian Budget are voluntary and subject to cuts. As such, UN Charities rely on donations from philanthropists like you!
